Your spare change could help needy kids get some warm mittens

If you’re shopping downtown this week keep your eyes peeled for the piggybanks poised on shop counters until December 5.

Every year the Knitters’ Klub purchases wool to knit mittens for children in need.

“The little piggybanks are provided throughout our community and the money collected will buy new mitts for more than 100 children in need in time for Christmas,” says organizer Carol Sakamoto..

“Some of our citizens like to knit mitts and we appreciate your kindness every year. The Knitters Klub have knitted more than 60 pairs of slippers so far in one month!”
