Nordic kids perform well at first of three Okanagan Cup races

On Sunday, December 29, twenty-two athletes represented Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club at the first of three Okanagan Cup races at Larch Hills Cross Country Ski Area outside of Salmon Arm.  Athletes competed in classic style mass start races.  Well over 240 athletes participated in this event, coming from ten clubs in the region. Emily Suchy put in an outstanding race, competing against able-bodied skiers on her sit ski, placing 4th in her age group.

Revelstoke represented itself well with highlights listed below.

Pee Wee Boys 2: silver – Nelson Luxmoore

Midget Girls 1: gold- Alana Brittin, silver-Elizabeth Elliott

Bantam Boys 2: silver- Hayden Mallett, 4th– Simon Blackie, 5th– Calum Gribbon

Junior Boys 1: bronze- Gordon Mason

Juvenile Girls 2: gold- Tayla Koerber, 4th Emily Suchy

Junior Girls 2: gold- Bronte Viznaugh
