Moberly Apartments’ official opening

Seniors in search of assisted-living units in Revelstoke have 11 more to choose from with the official opening of Moberly Apartments, formerly known as Moberly Manor, at 711 First Street West.

“Ensuring that seniors are able to remain in the communities they live in is an important priority to our government,” BC Liberal MLA Eric Foster of Vernon-Monashee said at the opening last Tuesday.

The apartments were one of two recent seniors’ housing projects (the other project was the Mount Begbie Villas project that opened last year) funded with $1.8 million in federal cash and $2.1 million in provincial money.  The Columbia Basin Trust also contributed funding for this project. The Moberly Apartments are administered by the Halcyon Assisted Living Society.

Moberly Apartments resident Cecil Bennett said he and the other residents are quite pleased with their new units.
