GPS stolen during vehicle break-in

Revelstoke is, relative to any big city, a very safe place but break-ins and other crimes do occur and we all need to take steps to prevent being victimized.

A case in point occurred just a couple of nights ago when someone entered two unlocked vehicles in the Tenth Street area. They were rummaged through and a Garmen GPS valued at $100 was stolen.

“This type of ‘crime of opportunity’ continues to occur in the Revelstoke area,” says RCMP Staff Sgt. Jacquie Olsen. “It is strongly suggested that all residents lock their vehicles when not in use.”

She said in a statement that anyone with information about this crime, which occurred on the nights of either November 2 or November 3 is asked to contact the local detachment at 250-837-5255 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
