It’s still summer — okay… the back end of it — and the kids from the Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club were busy training for the winter races to come. Monday morning found Cayla Koerber, Calum Gribbon, Hayden Mallett, Mikka Park and Gordon Mason trsaining on their roller skates with poles, while Gavin Mason and Emily Suchy spent the morning pushing their bicycles through a regime of laps. These young men and women are looking forward to another successful year under the tutelage of Head Coach Andre Pascu. This is Andre’s second year. The club snagged him from Romania where he coached national- and Olympic-level cross-country skiers as swell as members of that country’s children’s, junior and senior teams. Next March the club will host the BC Midget Championships at Mount Macpherson. That will be the biggest event the club will ever have hosted. David F. Rooney photo
