Mama takes the lead

An infrared camera in Mount Revelstoke National Park near Skunk Cabbage captured this image of a black bear sow with two cubs coming up from the highway. “We would like to remind the public that wildlife are very active where vegetation is abundant on the side of the highway, so please drive with care,” Park spokeswoman Jacolyn Daniluck said in a statement. “Grizzly bears are also active on the Balu Pass Trail in Glacier National Park and we have instituted a group-size restriction on the trail — only groups of four or more may hike there until further notice.” Photo courtesy of Parks Canada
