Local Mounties arrested a 25-year-old Revelstoke resident after they received complaints about a man with knife
“Reports were received that one male was seen yelling at a group of people while waving a large hunting knife in the air,” Staff Sgt. Jacquie Olsen said in a statement.
Police officers located and spoke to the group of people involved, who were not forthcoming with any information, she said.
“Extensive patrols of the area eventually located the subject male who was taken into custody. The 25-year-old Revelstoke resident indicated that he had been confronted by a male with a club and was just defending himself. He was found to be intoxicated and was lodged in cells for the evening. Charges are being considered.”
Olsen said the detachment would like to thank the many residents who contacted the police when they observed this incident unfold. Information provided greatly assisted in the investigation.
