In Pictures: last weekend’s Show ‘n’ Shine

By David F. Rooney

Fresh from St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, I was taken completely unawares by the Show ‘n’ Shine that filled the downtown core of the city with visitors and bright metallic colours on Saturday. So it’s a good thing I almost always have a camera with me and snagged 86 images from the event.

I boiled those down to these nine representative photos that I hope you’ll enjoy!

Normaly, fuzzy dice might seem a little cheesy, but they work as an adornment to this gleaming coal-black 1959 Chev Corvette owned by Peter Robinson of Spruce Grove, Alta. David F. Rooney photo
It looks a little naked, but this golden chassis owned by Don and Jo Hawker of Revelstoke is soon to become the mechanical foundation of a 1932 Ford. David F. Rooney photo

And, finally, can you imagine driving this gorgeous 1961 Impala through the mountains? Owner Rick Skirzyk did — all the way from Grande Prairie. David F. Rooney photo
