Enhancement Committee member Eileen Fletcher explains how the City’s planned bike route system will work. The system will eventually stretch from the Illecillewaet Bridge to the Big Eddy Bridge and will operate only from April until October. Committee Chairwoman Toni Johnston said about 50 people dropped by the tent erected at Southside during the four-hour period Fletcher and other committee members were out talking to t he public. She said 22 filled out comment sheets with 18 supporting dedicated bike routes and temporary parking closure from April to October. Four were against. “Many had concerns about the bridge and we had many conversations with individuals with good suggestions for the rest of the route and how to deal with the CPR Y if we ever go beyond Phase One and the section of the Bridge to Townley,” Johnston said.
