The Regional Mixed Playdowns will be held at the Revelstoke Curling Club next weekend.
Games start at 6pm Friday and continue all day Saturday with the Finals on Sunday.
The sx teams competing are:
- David Long from Salmon Arm;
- Simone Groundwater from Kamloops;
- Jared St John from Penticton;
- Brian Essington from Vernon;
- Crista Nordin from Kelowna; and
- Brian Lecompte from Revelstoke.
The winner goes onto the BC Provincial Finals and curls against winners from each region to determine the BC Mixed Curling Champ. They then go onto the Canadian Finals representing BC.

The next event after that at the Revelstoke Curling Club is the annual Men’s Cashspiel on the weekend of March 2-4 with a $1,000 grand prize for the A Event winner. This is the club’s 60th Anniversary Event and the club expects about 20 teams with most of them from out of town. Registration closes on Tuesday Feb. 28.
The A Event Sponsor is Tim Hortons. The B Event Sponsor is Investors Group and the C Event Sponsor is Canyon Electric
In other curling club news, Friday Night Drop-in Curling will resume on March 9, ending on March 23
The highschool curling team was in Penticton the last week of January competing against other high school teams. This is the first year these youngsters played the sport (all of them are in Grade 9) and they competed against teams from all over the Okanagan with players right up to Grade 12. Our team won two games and lost two games.
