Arrow Heights gives back!

Students at Arrow Heights Elementary School know how to give back to the community. This year’s student council has chosen three new charities to support. They are Stones Into Schools, the Rick Hansen Foundation and Trees for Tots. The council, shown here, consist of Megan Cottingham, Samantha Legebokow, Erin Behncke, Lainey Thur, Simon Brittin, Kevin Kepler, Tristan Herle, Caine McCabe, Kees Van Der Mere and Claudia Cinelli. Last year, Arrow Heights Elementary School supported three charities; Turn on the Tap, BC Children’s Hospital, and the Revelstoke Humane Society.

Students at Arrow Heights received CARE cards when they did something special, such as helping a fellow student, or creating a safe environment in our school. They paid it forward by putting their CARE cards towards a charity. At the end of our school year, the Student Council divided the money they raised among the three charities, based on the percentage of CARE cards in each donation box.  Money was raised for these charities through a variety of events such as selling flowers on Mother’s Day.

We were lucky to have the support of the Revelstoke Community Foundation.  They donated $320 to our cause.  All together we donated $170 to Turn on the Tap, $230 to BC Children’s Hospital, and $250 to The Revelstoke Humane Society.  Arrow Heights felt proud to give back!
