Local RCMP Constables Gary McLaughlin (shown here) and Justin Yacoboski had a banner day when they set up a road check just east of town on Monday morning. The very first vehicle — a rental — they stopped for speeding was found to contain 52.7 pounds of marijuana in its trunk. A news release from the local detachment said a Calgary resident will appear in Provincial Court in May to answer to a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
