Craig Brian Merritt died suddenly in Delta, B.C. on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the age of 47 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Revelstoke Community Center on Sunday afternoon, December 18 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Ken Jones and Mr. Gary Sulz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke Community Foundation for the Revelstoke Railway Museum Fund, P.O. Box 2398, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Craig.
Craig was born in Revelstoke, B.C. on June 22, 1964. He had lived in the lower mainland for most of his adult life. Craig was active with the Revelstoke Figure Skating Club and a member of the swim team as a young adult. He was very friendly and a social person who loved being around others. Craig found his niche in life when he became a long term care aide and was very compassionate and loving at his job.
Craig was predeceased by his grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Ann & Lyle Merritt of Revelstoke; three siblings: Randy (Coleene) Merritt of Calgary, Tracey (Gord) Anton of Kelowna and Todd Merritt of Kelowna; six nieces and nephews: Mathew, Mitchell, Parker and Maddison Merritt, Amy Anton and Andrea (Dimitri) Andrich; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
