Do you know the history of winter and getting to Revelstoke? The Revelstoke Railway Museum is looking for volunteer museum docents to bring the museum alive this winter. Is this for you?
“Telling stories and answering questions for our patrons will give special insight into the story of winter in Revelstoke and the value of the Canadian Pacific Railway to our community,” says a statement from the museum.
“Our museum is open from 11 am to 4 pm Thursday through Sunday until April 30. Volunteers are asked to contribute a few hours one day a week.”
Museum docents will learn railway history, communication skills and the art of interpretation. Opportunities may exist to answer research inquires and develop hands-on activities.
“All you need is an interest in railway history and being comfortable speaking with visitors,” the statement said. “Come for a visit to the Revelstoke Railway Museum and pick up a volunteer form from the office or the gift store, during opening hours.”
