The Aquatic Centre should be kept open for at least three hours on all statutory holidays except Christmas, Council’s Committee of the Whole decided Tuesday.
Since 2009 the pool had been closed on most statutory holidays as a cost-saving measure. Prior to that it was kept open year-round.
According to statistics provided by the Parks and Recreation Departments more than 100 people use the indoor pool and its facilities on holidays, except Christmas.
