Revelstoke Mountain Resort will do what it must to “find a long-term solution” t the water woes being experienced by some nearby residents,” Rod Kessler, the resort’s chief operating officer.
The resort is prepared to sit down and find a long-term solution,” he told Revelstoke City Council on Tuesday.
Kessler also said that this point it’s a matter of getting all parties together to discuss what must be done.
Twelve homes on Camozzi Road, which receive their water from Thomas Brook on Mount Mackenzie, have had significant water interruptions due to construction at RMR. All of the homes are within the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, which asked Revelstoke City Council on October 11 if it would prevent future problems by hooking them up to a very nearby municipal water line.
The CSRD said it wouldn’t pay for the hooks and Revelstoke has a policy of hooking up only those homes that are within city boundaries.
It will be interesting to see how this issue is resolved.
