Meet Meghan Tabor, the Chamber of Commerce’s new marketing coordinator. The Dalhousie University grad in business management and recreation studies moved here from North Vancouver in 2009 and, she says “fell in love with the community, and have never looked back!” Her work experience includes a stint as tourism coordinator for Canadian Outback Adventures, assistant event manager for the World Lacrosse Championships, a venue manager for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games and, as a volunteer in Tanzania, she helped the owner of a local Kilimanjaro guiding company to develop his small business by increasing the visibility of his company on the Internet with a complete website re-vamp along with the creation of a company profile on Facebook. “Since moving to Revelstoke, I have worked in a variety of capacities, with my most recent as being the Event Coordinator for the Freeskiing World Tour,” she said. “In my spare time, I am an avid skier in the winter and mountain biker in the summer. I coach a girl’s rep soccer team in town and volunteer with Search & Rescue, Emergency Social Services, Community Connections Youth Mentoring, and the Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association. I am excited to take on this new opportunity with the Chamber of Commerce, and I look forward to connecting with you soon.” David F. Rooney photo
