A Midsummer Night’s Green was dreamy

The North Columbia Environmental Society put on an excellent fundraiser for its Community Garden project drawing 110 people to the Village Idiot on Tuesday to enjoy sumptuous appetizers and taste new wines from the Okanagan.

The event was very well organized by Laura Gallagher and, of course, the appetizers from the 112, Paramjiit’s, the Village Idiot, the Modern, Mountain Meals and La Baguette were the center piece of the event. They were so good they didn’t last long. Those who enjoyed them also voted for their favourite appetizer. La Baguette’s offering was voted the best with the Village Idiot’s coming in second and the lively canapes from Paramjiit’s and Mountain Meals coming in third.

NCES President Hailey Ross said the event raised $986.50 which will be used to maintain the Community Garden project.

Here is a selection of photos from the event:

An array of sumptuous appetizers from the Modern, the Village Idiot, La Baguette, the 112, Paramjiit's and Mountain Meals were one of the big draws to the North Columbia Environmental Society's Midsummer Night's Green fundraiser for the Community Garden project held on the patio at the Village Idiot. But if you wanted to enjoy them you had to get to them early. Sarah Boyle was an early arrival at the party and certainly got to enjoy them. But if you arrived after 6:30 you were probably out of luck. David F. Rooney photo
