Clara May Dixon passed away peacefully at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke, B.C. on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the age of 96 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Revelstoke United Church on Saturday afternoon, July 23rd, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with family and friends presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Memorial Bench Fund, c/o Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Box 1098, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Clara.
Clara was born in Cranbrook, B.C. on February 14, 1915 and moved to Revelstoke at the age of four years. In 1939 she met and married Harold Dixon in Revelstoke and they stayed until 1977. After Harold retired they moved to Armstrong. In 1992, Harold and Clara moved back to Revelstoke. Clara enjoyed bingo, bowling and most especially playing bridge. She was very easy going and liked to have a good time. Good or bad, she was willing to try anything once. Clara enjoyed being with people of all ages. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and never said “no” to anything they wanted from her.
Clara was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1996, sister Audrey Morgan in 2002 and brother Byron Morrison in 1985. She is survived by her chosen daughter Brenda (Merv) Deibert; two grandchildren: Deena (Jason) Summerfelt of Lumby and Brad (Rhonda) Camozzi of Prince George; five great grandchildren: Amanda Burk (Wade Jensen) of Cranbrook, Courtney Burk (Curtis Rogers) of Vernon, Justin Burk of Lumby, Ciarra and Jared Camozzi of Prince George; great great grandchild Khloe May Jensen of Cranbrook; step great great grandchild Skye Jensen of Cranbrook; former son-in-law Richard Camozzi of Revelstoke; former grandson-in-law Jody Burk of Cranbrook as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
