A record 38 riders took part in the third race this week and we continue to see a great turnout from the younger riders. Special mention goes to the Brittin family as all four of them have taken part in all the races. The third race featured a tough rolling course through Stimulus, Black Forest and lower TNT. The tight singletrack lead to lots of back and forth racing as many positions were swapped between laps.

The men’s race saw a new winner for the first time this season as Brendan MacIntosh edged out Marty Schaffer with a strong finishing kick. Of course Brendan, who is also the owner of Flowt Bikes (one of our Silver Sponsors), is no stranger to the top of podium as he won all three races last season. After a rough race two weeks ago Don Robertson bounced back and made it back to the podium in third place. Despite finishing fifth this week Lee English continues to lead the overall standings.

Fresh from a strong finish at the recent Test of Metal bike race in Squamish, Melanie Bernier comfortably lead the women’s field to victory. Sarah Newton finished second however she continues to pick up bonus points and maintains a slim lead in the overall standings. Theresa McGeragle rounded out the women’s podium. Full results are posted online.

Thanks again to our sponsors for the awesome draw prizes! It is also great to see some of our sponsors out racing and volunteering as well. The series takes a short mid-season break but will return July 20th with more great singletrack. In the meantime if you want to get your racing fix check out the Stoked to Get Spanked race presented by Skookum Cycle on July 10th.
