William Lenard (Red) Underdown passed away in Oliver, BC, on June 9, 2011, at the age of 84 years. A Memorial Reception will be held at Red’s daughter’s residence – 1650 Griffiths Road (Big Eddy), Revelstoke, B.C. on Saturday afternoon, July 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
Red was born in Dauphin, Manitoba, on August 28, 1926, moved to B.C. in 1936 and arrived in Revelstoke in 1954. He was active in the Cub Scouts for many years. Red loved fishing and gardening. He worked for the Department of Highways for several years.
Red was predeceased by seven of his nine siblings. He is survived by his wife Rosa Underdown of Osoyoos, BC; two daughters: Ella Underdown and Cindy Ratcliffe, both of Revelstoke; two grandsons: Matthew and Andrew Underdown of Revelstoke; several step children and step grandchildren; a sister in Prince Rupert and a sister at the coast.
