Generosity begins at home

The barbecued smokies sold last weekend at Home Hardware's Yard and Garden Sale raised a lot of money — $420.30 to be exact — that store co-owner Gerry Ozero was happy to present to Moira Dower of the Revelstoke Red Cross. Moira, herself a volunteer, manages the Red Cross Medical Equipment Loan Depot in the old Big Eddy School. She appreciated the money but also made an appeal for volunteers to step forward and lend a hand. The depot has all kinds of medical equipment from bed pans to wheelchairs that can be borrowed by local residents who need them. David F. Rooney photo
