What a great start to the season at Wednesday Night Racing presented by Arrow Helicopters!  The newly expanded and super-awesome Revelstoke Cycling Association hosted the first of six cross-country mt. bike races last night at Mt. Macpherson.

31 racers challenged themselves against the two lap course that featured Yew R Here, Quarry and Hemlock Groove. The rain held off long enough for everyone to enjoy buff conditions on the trails. Impressively we had racers that ranged in age from 10 to 58. Awesome riding by the younger crowd as they held their own (and better) against the adults. Nice job Wyatt, Kellen, Simon and Alana!

On the men’s side Lee English led from start to finish and slowly pulled away from the field by the second lap. Don Robertson and Rich Hamilton were left fighting for second with Don holding the upper hand at the end. Women’s winner Melanie Bernier finished with a commanding lead while Sarah Newton just nosed out Laura Dyer for second. Full results are now posted on the webpage.

Thanks to our many sponsors (Flowt Bikes, Helios Rehabilitation, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Skookum Cycle, Stoke Roasted Coffee, Last Drop, Pharmasave and La Baguette) most of the participants went home with great draw prizes.  Thanks also to our dedicated volunteers.

Our next race is in two weeks on June 8. Check the website for the exact location. It will be posted by the middle of next week.
