This is more than just a fish…

This 12-pound bull trout young Justin Fusick caught in the Columbia last weekend with his mentor, Matt Robinson, represents more than just a little skill and determination with a rod and reel. It demonstrates the power of having a positive adult role model in a young person's life. The Youth Community Connections Mentoring Program uses adult volunteers to commit to supporting, guiding, and being a friend to a young person. The mentor can help empower the youth to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential and reach positive personal goals. The program is currently accepting applications for mentors (age 19+) and mentees (ages 10-18). Applications and more information available at www.community-connections.ca.
