Local boy helps Ice Pirates win big

The Kamloops Ice Pirates spring hockey team won the 2011 Pirate Challenges with a convincing 7-0 victory over the Kootenay Avalanche. Ordinarily, that wouldn't matter to the Revelstoke-focused Current, but the team's victory was, in part, made possible by Revelstoke's Matt Cadden. The local boy played defence for the Ice Pirates and you can see him between the coaches in the center of the back row. The Ice Pirates will go on to play over spring hockey teAms in Vancouver, April 15-17. Good luck to Matt and the rest of the Pirates. Photo courtesy of Jenn Cadden
