Walking your dog in Columbia Park? Watch out for the moose!

If you're walking your dog in Columbia Park watch out for the moose that is hanging around the Golf Club. And not just the Golf Club. The free-ranging ungulate is no stranger to neighbourhood streets as you can see here. Shannon Moorhead

If you’re walking your dog in Columbia Park watch out for the moose that is hanging around the Golf Club.

Area residents say the cow moose may have an injured leg and has been seen hanging out under the big cedars on the course.

“People walking their dogs should be aware of that and perhaps take their dogs somewhere else,” said one resident of the neighbourhod.

Living with wildlife is just part of what makes life in Revelstoke so interesting, particularly if we all adapt a live and let live attitude and let creatures like this particular loose moose alone. That’s not just good for the moose but for us, too, moose can be aggressive if they feel threatened by humans.

If you are new to town please remember that this is not Bambi. It is a wild animal and does not want to be your friend.
