Mr. Lawrence Edward MacDonald died suddenly at his residence in Revelstoke on Thursday, December 30th, 2010 at the age of 66 years.
A tea to remember Lawrence will be held from the Revelstoke Community Center on Wednesday, January 5th, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a Special Presentation at 2:00 p.m.
Lawrence was born on March 6, 1944 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, and was a resident of Revelstoke for the past 43 years. He had worked for the Department of Highways and HMC from 1975 until his retirement in 2006. Lawrence enjoyed his time spent outdoors; walking through the community, fishing on his boat, snowplowing, his perfect lawn maintenance and having coffee with his friends. He loved to travel back east to visit with family and friends. His greatest joy in life was helping others, if there was a need he was there to assist.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Iris of Revelstoke; four children: Tammy (Jaret) VanSickle of Revelstoke, Brad (Melissa) MacDonald of Charlottetown, PEI, Chad (Tania) MacDonald of Zacatecas, Mexico and Troy MacDonald of Revelstoke; five grandchildren: Courtny (Urs) Nef, Kohlby VanSickle, Cassy VanSickle all of Revelstoke, Summer and Starr MacDonald of Charlottetown, PEI; four siblings: Joe MacDonald, Mary (Stan) Hebert, Dorothy (Bob) Barnstead and Brian MacDonald all of Nova Scotia as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
