CITY OF REVELSTOKE — PUBLIC NOTICE
1800 hrs January 19, 2011
Illecillewaet River and Lanark Blockage
This afternoon the blockage and the river downstream of the blockage were flown over by a helicopter carrying a team of assessors.
The river is flowing through the blockage and there appears to be no increase in ponding.
Inflow equals outflow and the water gauge at Greely (downstream) is showing normal seasonal flow.
There does not appear to be a threat at this time. However, monitoring will continue:
CPR operations will report any unusual flow at their crossings, and
Steps are being taken to monitor daily from the highway
A further update will be released by the City of Revelstoke if the status changes.
