Ski mountaineer Greg Hill homes-in on two million feet

Local ski mountaineer Greg Hill will achieve a long-held goal of ascending and descending two million vertical feet on mountains across the globe by making his final run on Mount Mackenzie on New Year’s Eve.

“This will be the last day of my year-long challenge and it will be great to share with people and RMR is the perfect location,” Hill said in a statement issued by the resort.  “So many people have expressed an interest in watching my final feet that it only made sense to meet them at the top of The Stoke. Come share my last turns with me as I cruise down after a huge year of going up.”

Here, according to the statement is the schedule of events:

  • 8:30 am-2:00 pm             Greg will skin up and ski his final laps, in bounds at Revelstoke Mountain Resort where, throughout the day, videos of his achievements will play at Mid-Mountain Lodge
  • 2:30 pm             Final Run from the top of The Stoke Chair to the Mid Mountain Lodge
  • 2:45 pm              Celebration event at Mid Mountain Lodge including a presentation by Greg and après ski specials
  • 4:00 pm             Final download on Revelation Gondola
