The Nickelodeon Museum will once again offer Revelstokians an opportunity to enjoy a taste of Victoriana this Christmas with a Grand Magic Lantern Show on December 22.
The show will be centered around the 1895 Story of the Other Wise Man by Henry Van Dyke and will feature Rev. Ken Jones of the United Church as the narrator, said the Nickelodeon’s proprietor, David Evans.
The story is illustrated by a magnificent set of 40 colourful slides. Magic Lantern shows were animated slide presentations that were an extremely popular form of public entertainment until the last century.
“We had them for several years but have never done anything with them,” he said Wednesday. “We’ll have a number of other shows, including the Christmas Pudding and Santa Claus and the always-popular Victorian Light Show.
The Grand Magic Lantern Show will be held December 22. The doors will open at 7 pm and the show will begin at 7:30. Tickets are $12 at the door and children under 12 will be admitted for $6. All proceeds will do the Food Bank.
If you have never before seen a Magic Lantern show you will not want to miss this!
