Bill Grace passed away peacefully at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 with his family at his side. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Revelstoke on Saturday morning, November 6 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Heather Hamlin-Gravells officiating. Cremation, with interment of the cremated remains in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery to follow the service. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Lind, Kurt Pont, Mike Dragani, Rob Ross, Peter Miller and Paul Druitt. Flowers are acceptable, or memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1633 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, B.C. V1P 1P6, in memory of Bill.
Bill was born in Revelstoke on December 2, 1951, and had been a life-long resident. He loved to ski, play golf and curl. Bill was a member of the Ski Patrol for 30 years, and he enjoyed belonging to this group as it was his like his “second family.” Bill was recently honoured with a Life Membership Award from the ski patrol and was thrilled to receive this. Bill especially loved to be with his grandchildren who were the light in his life.
Bill is survived by his wife Connie of Revelstoke; two daughters: Jaclyn Grace of Calgary and Lindsay (Ryan) Clarke of Mt. Pearl, Newfoundland; his three grandchildren: Jalaina, Landon and Addison; his parents Helen and Gary Grace of Revelstoke; two brothers: Bob (Rosemarie) Grace of Kamloops and Tom (Wendy) Grace of Golden; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ron (Regina) Twa of Malakwa, Laverne Rice of Edmonton and Marjorie Vollman of Red Deer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends.
