James Wilfred (Jim) Jarvis died suddenly at his residence in Revelstoke on Saturday, November 20th, 2010, at the age of 43 years. A Memorial Service was held at the Chapel of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke on Wednesday afternoon, November 24th, with Pastor Rick Eby officiating. Honorary pallbearers were: Glenn Allen, John Ratcliffe, Reg Ratcliffe, Matthew Ratcliffe, Andrew Ratcliffe and Fred Jarvis. Cremation with interment to follow in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery at a later date.
Jim was born in Castlegar, B.C. on June 11, 1967 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1973. He had been a long haul truck driver since the age of 16 and really enjoyed his work. Jim’s passion in life, however, was fishing.
Jim was predeceased by his mother Geraldine. He is survived by his daughter Melina Jarvis of Calgary; father Sonny Jarvis of Revelstoke; two sisters, Janice Jarvis and Wanda Jarvis, both of Revelstoke; aunts & uncles: Fred and Bonnie Jarvis of Kelowna, Betty Baldwin of Cardinal, Ontario, Joyce Magee of London, Ontario, Huck Magee of Cardinal, Ontario, Alan Jarvis of Cranbrook and Joe and Mary McKenna of Charlottetown, P.E.I. as well as numerous cousins and friends.
Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
