Here’s a tip: if you drive don’t toke up

A vehicle stopped last Friday night just after 6 p.m., resulted in the seizure of 263 grams of marihuana, the local RCMP detachment said in a statement.

Officers were conducting traffic enforcement on the Trans-Canada Highway near Greely Road when a vehicle was pulled over for having a burned out headlight.  When the officer approached the vehicle an odour of marijuana was detected.  The two male occupants were arrested and the subsequent search ended with the seizure of the marihuana along with some items used to grow the controlled substance.

The 30-year-old driver and 37-year-old passenger, both from Invermere, will appear in Revelstoke Provincial Court in February to answer to the charge of possession of a controlled substance.
