New Visitors’ Info Centre dream gets a shot in the arm from the CBT

The Columbia Basin Trust has contributed $200,000 towards the construction of a new Visitors Centre that will also house the Chamber of Commerce and the Community Futures Development Corporation. CBT Community Liaison Lynda LaFleur came to town Friday bearing the big cheque, which she was quite happy to provide to CFDC Chairman Mike Cummings (left), Chamber Vice-President Steve Bailey (centre back) and Mayor David Raven. CBT Director Ron Ozust (left) represented the CBT board at the presentaion ceremony and photo opportunity that was held in front of the Community Centre. Cummings and Bailey said the new VIC will likely be completed by next autumn. A decision still has to be made as to its location. It could be built next to Grizzly Plaza or on the old Arlington Plaza site next to Pharmasave. David F. Rooney photo
