Are you ready to get your passport… your Passport to Christmas?
The annual marketing program that offers shoppers major savings on products in stores around town will soon be getting underway.
“Consumers love this program — and it’s great for keeping their dollars in the community,” says program promoter Craig McKee. “The first year I started this we retained $1.2 million in the local economy.”
Consumer confidence in the program hasn’t waned, although McKee says local merchants have adopted a bunker mentality due to the overall state of the economy.
“Last year we kept $750,000 worth of spending in town,” he said, adding that 32 merchants participated in the program. “In fact, one newcomer to town said he spent more money than ever as a result of the Passport to Christmas.”
McKee is busy promoting the program and his Moonlight Madness flyer seeking participation from local merchants.
Businesses that buy into the two programs have an opportunity to win $500 worth of radio time on EZ Rock.
The draw will be held live o EZ Rock this Friday at 8:55 am.
