Les Mis, the sensational opera by Andrew Lloyd-Webber, comes to the Roxy Theatre today in a live high-definition digital broadcast from the National Theatre in London.
This is the second offering in The Roxy’s new series of live upscale operas and theatre presentations from the Metropoloitan Opera Company in New York and the National Theatre in London.
“We had 60 people at the opening broadcast of The Barber of Seville,” said Carl Rankin. “It was very exciting and the quality of the broadcast makes it seem as though you are right there. It’s amazingly good — so good, in fact, you got a real buzz just as you would if you were at the Met.”
Rankin has high expectations for this new digital series and hopes Revelstokians looking for high culture will support the broadcasts.
