Affordable housing duplex on Oscar Street opened

By Laura Stovel

Revelstoke Community Housing Society opened its first affordable house on Thursday, October 28, showing off what its Building Subcommittee member Glen O’Reilly described as a “pleasant, practical house for two families.” Each unit in the duplex is 1,150 square feet and has an open-concept kitchen-living room, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

One unit has already been rented and will be occupied on December 1.

The Society hopes to keep the momentum going on these projects.

Chairman Mark McKee said, “We’d like to see at least ten more.”
