Southside generosity

Southside owners Georgina (shown here with Community Foundation Chairman Steven Hui) and Alan Chin donated more than $1,000 to the Revelstoke Community Foundation Sunday to help with programs aimed at Revelstoke children and youth. The money comes from the community rewards program held by Southside every May to benefit one charity each year. Southside also annually donates produce for two hotdog sales run by the designated charity in May. Hui said that about half of the charity's money in the last few years has gone to programs aimed at children and youth, including Community Connections' youth programs and programs that promote safe driving for teens and drug awareness. Past recipients of Southside annual donations have been the Food Bank and Trees for Tots. The Chins have a particular interest in supporting programs that benefit disadvantaged children and youth.
