She looked nervous — even apprehensive — but by the end of her long-anticipated date with hair stylist Helen Brum’s clippers, Nel Lord was all smiles at Tuesday’s Golf Fore The Cure tournament at the Revelstoke Golf Club.
And why not? She managed to raise more than $2,400 for breast cancer research and entertained the 65 other golfers who came out for the event. All told Revelstoke raised more than $8,000.
Not bad… here are some photos of the evening:
Don't worry... it won't hurt a bit! Nel Lord grimaces as stylist Helen Brum from Medusa's prepares to shave her head at the Golf Course at the conclusion of the Canadian Cancer Society's Golf Fore The Cure event on Tuesday. Lord promised to shave her head if she raised $2,000. David F. Rooney photo By the third pass of the clippers, Noel Lord looks pathetically resigned to the loss of her locks. But she should be smiling! She did raise more than $2,400 for the Golf Fore The Cure event. David F. Lady golfers watch intently as Helen clips away at Nel's hair. David F. Rooney photo Hmmmm... Suzie Cameron watches closely as Helen clips Nel's hair. David F. Rooney photo Nel gets a hug from Suzie. David F. Rooney photo While Nel was losing her hair, these ladies were flaunting theirs. Alright... it's pink and probably made of plastic but — gosh! — it was certainly, ah, vibrant. The pretty-in-pink contingent at the Golf Fore The Cure event consisted of Sharon Tippe, Betty Young, Charlene Forbes, Nancy Murray and Lynne Anderson. David F. Rooney photo We won! We won! These are the 1010 Beach Babes: Suzie Cameron, Michelle Nagy, Cassy Nagy and Carolyn McStay. David F. Rooney photo The 66 women (and one guy... okay he was dressed as a girl) who came out for the Canadian Cancer Society's Golf Fore The Cure Event and a great dinner from Rusty and Laura Berarducci at the Revelstoke Golf Course's Riverside Grill raised more than $8,000 for breast cancer research and had a great time doing it. Here some of them were paying $2 a putt to see if they could put their ball on the $50 bill in the foreground. Congratulations to everyone who participated and especially to Nel Lord for baring it all. David F. The active and energetic golfer, Eileen was legendarily roasted by her friends. David F. Rooney photo
