BC Hydro extends a helping hand

BC Hydro employees and a Community Connections Food Bank volunteer (in the blue T-shirt) assist a young woman as she fills out a form that will result in her receiving a special box of energy-saving devices for her home. The utility has been offering the kits, which each contain $75 worth of energy-saving gizmos, to food bank clients across the province. "It's a way to help people save money," said one of the Hydro workers. Each kit could help someone save at least $60 on their energy bills. David F. Rooney photo
