Summer Reading Club in Revelstoke

School vacation is fast approaching, and the Revelstoke Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library is gearing up for Summer Reading Club (SRC) to help ensure your school-aged children don’t fall victim to the “summer slide” by losing their literacy skills over the summer months.

Sponsored in partnership by the ORL, the BC Library Association and the Ministry of Education, this year’s Summer Reading Club theme is Reading Rocks with weekly bookdraws and special events. Students can visit the Revelstoke Branch at 605 Campbell Avenue beginning June 22 to register for programs and receive their reading record. Also, bilingual children’s musician Will Stroet will visit Revelstoke for a special high-energy “Reading Rocks” concert fun for the whole family on Tuesday, July 20 at 3:30 pm.

More detailed information can be found at www.orl.bc.ca/branches/revelstoke or by calling the branch at 250-837-5095.
