Oh goodie! Something to look forward to: the July 15 Sangha Bean opening

By David F. Rooney

Add the Sangha Bean to the list of places where you can slake your thirst for Fair Trade coffee or tea.

The organic coffee and tea bar at 111 Connaught Ave. will officially open on July 15, but owner Krista Cadieux held a “pre-opening open house” to show off the space to friends and potential customers on Wednesday evening.

“It’s really a mercantile space with a coffee bar component,” she said as she whipped up one fine latte.

The merchandise on offer includes local crafts, handbags and other items.

Not having a full-service kitchen makes running the business somewhat less complicated. Which is not to say there’s won’t be food. Kendra Powell of Mountain Meals will be providing some dishes on a daily basis.

The space itself is sandwiched between Little Caesar’s and Bernie Lavallee’s law office. It consists of two rooms with some funky furniture and local art on the walls. There will also be at least two tables and chairs outside.

The Sangha Bean is located at 111 Connaught Avenue and opens July 15.

There are some pretty funky things happening at the Sangha Bean — the retail space-cum-cafe that Krista Cadieux (that's her working the espresso machine beneath the big fish) is opening on 111 Connaught Avenue next month.
