Mountain bikers seek a home for their pump and jump tracks

Lorraine Blanchard (left) and Brendan MacIntosh of the Revelstoke Trail Alliance appeared before City Council Tuesday afternoon to ask for its support in its efforts to develop mountain bike pump and jump tracks. The alliance says the tracks will benefit local youths who now resort to illegal tracks scattered around the city and mounta-biking tourists. They had wanted to build the tracks in Kovachs Park but encountered resistance from local residents. They say they will build and maintain the tracks if the City will provide the land and pay for the insurance. David F. Rooney photo
