Credit Union’s Community Giving Program benefits local groups

The Revelstoke Credit Union handed out almost $33,400 in cash to a wide range of grateful community groups during its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday. The Heritage Railway Society received $2,000 to improve its library archives; the Skating Club received $1,000 for club improvements; the Acrobats were presented with $1,500 for new mats; the BC Interior Forestry Museum was given $500 for a volunteer project; the Nordic Ski Club, $3,000 for trailhead facilities; Bike to Work Revelstoke, $400 for T-shirts; Revelocity Cycling Club, $250, for safety gear; the Avalanche Centre, $4,000 for its Youth Avalanche Safety Program; Community Connections, $5,000 for the Food Bank; Community Connections, $5,000 for its Summer Day Camp Program; The Visual Arts Society, $250 for the next Art Walk; The Cycling Association, $3,000 for its work on the Frisby Ridge Trail; the Ski Club, $1,000 for equipment; the Arts Council, $1,500 for its Concert Series; the Youth Soccer Association, $1,000 for referee training; the Early Childhood development Committee, $3,000 in support of its projects; and RSS $1,000 for the Ono Cho Student Exchange.
