Pat was born on April 19, 1928 at Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, B.C. and passed away peacefully at Queen Victoria Hospital on March 12, 2010, after a brief illness.
She was the eldest of three children, born to Stewart and Doris McAllister. The family lived in the communities of Sapperton/Fraser Mills, North Bend, Notch Hill and Revelstoke, B.C.
Pat was employed at the Post Office in Notch Hill, as well as a crew clerk for CPR in Revelstoke and married Wilf Lessard in 1949.
She was a long-time member of the Ladies of BLF&E, and a 49 year member of the Ladies Auxillary of Branch #46, Royal Canadian Legion.
Pat was predeceased by her parents, Stewart and Doris McAllister, nephews, Bryan Parker and Robert Lessard and husband of 61 years, Wilf Lessard in February, 2010.
She is survived by her sister Marg (Ron) Parker, brother Stewart (Joyce) McAllister, sister-in-law, Marie Knaap (Lessard), nephews, Norm and Ray (Sandy) Bruce, Lyle (Alda) Parker and family, Randy McAllister and family and the Lessard family in Ontario.
Cremation. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat`s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1633 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 1P6.
The family would like express their gratitude to Dr`s Farrugia, Jarmula, Morrison, as well as the Nursing Staff and Ambulance Attendants at QVH, for their care and support during Wilf and Pat`s stay in Hospital.
Special note of thanks to Bob (Cheryl) Hedley, Jack (Florence) Carten, Constance Brothers, Jan Morehouse of the Credit Union, CIBC staff, Val (Emo`s), Fred (Audrey) Christoffersen of Kelowna, Gary Sulz of Brandon Bowers, as well as their friends and neighbors, for their kindness and compassion afforded Wilf and Pat over the years and especially during their time of need.
Wilf and Pat shared a great sense of humour, enjoyed a good life together and will sadly be missed by all who knew them. Their ashes will be interred together in the Lessard family plot in Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke.
