Eleonora (Lori) Speidel passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Thursday, March 25th, 2010 at the age of 76 years. A Memorial Reception will be held at the Revelstoke Senior’s Center on Thursday afternoon, April 1st at 2:00 p.m. with family and friends presiding. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary, Box 1781, Revelstoke, B.C., in memory of Lori.
Lori was born in Wangen, Germany, on July 27, 1933, and moved to Arrowhead in July 1957 and then to Revelstoke in 1967. She was a member of the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary and worked at the Auxiliary Thrift Shop for many years as well as being a faithful member of the TOPS Club. Lori enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, canning, gardening, mushroom picking and being outdoors. She was a very warm and generous person who was a hard worker and enjoyed people and helping others. Lori loved animals and always had pets around her. Family was very important to her and she loved her time spent with them all.
Lori was predeceased by her husband Herb and her brother Helmut Meidlinger. She is survived by three children: Oscar of Revelstoke, Herb (Linda) of Revelstoke and Judy (Steve) Towns of Edmonton; seven grandchildren: Sonny-Ann, Trajen, Herb, Crystal, Jason, Clint and Steve; 13 great grandchildren: Hannah, Hailey, Halo, Keyanna, Keegan, Bella, Ethan, Dexter, Simon, Taylor, Matthias, Eden and Jonas; “sister” Heidi (Martin) Miertsch of Revelstoke; brother-in-law Hans (Cathy) Speidel of Germany; numerous nieces and nephews; many good friends; her dog “Bear” and cats “Blackie” and “Annie”.
