Obituary Notice — Constance Patricia Manson

Constance Patricia Manson 1923-2010

Mrs. Constance (Connie) Patricia Manson passed away peacefully in Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, on Wed. Feb 24th, 2010 at the age of 86 years.

Connie was born Nov 14th, 1923 in Whitewood, Saskatchewan. She grew up on her parent’s farm and got her teachers certificate in 1945 and taught school in various communities around the Whitewood area. Connie married Jack Manson on June 18th 1949 and they lived in communities along the CPR route in Saskatchewan and Manitoba where their four sons were born.

They moved to Revelstoke in 1961. Connie was very active in the United Church, taught kindergarten, was an avid curler, and enthusiastically followed all the sports her boys were in. Summers were filled with camping and fishing.

Connie & Jack moved to Salmon Arm in 1971 where she became very involved in all aspects of this community. Some of her passions were the UCW, Women’s Institute, Presbytery, the Fall Fair, and other committees too numerous to mention.  She enjoyed singing in the United Church Choir and with the Shuswap Singers, she curled for years, played cribbage, travelled abroad, played the piano, loved sewing, and other handiwork, and especially spending time with her many friends and family.

Funeral Services will be held on Sat. Mar.6th, 2010 at First United Church, Salmon Arm at 1pm. Reverend Juanita Austin officiating. Internment of the cremated remains to follow .In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s name to the charity of your choice.

Connie was predeceased in 1977 by her husband Jack and by her son Gordon in 2007.

She is survived by her three sons: Donald (Margaret), Jim (Marla) and John (Georgina), all of Revelstoke,  seven grandchildren: Ryan (Tasha), Shawn ( Marlene), David (Heather), Mike (Suzanne), Kara (Trevor Pelletier),  Rachel (Danny McDonald), and Beth, seven great-grandchildren: Skyler, Makayla, Axel, Mya, Carver, Ari and Maxwell, two brothers Raymond (Ruth) and Lorne Dayman and sister-in-law Jean (Dean) Buchannon, plus numerous nieces and nephews and a host of close friends.
