Night Club accepting donations to aid dead sledders’ families

The Outabounds Nightclub is launching a drive to collect money to help the families of the two Alberta sledders who died in last Saturday’s avalanche on Boulder Mountain.

“The sledding community as a whole has continuously supported Outabounds Nightclub along with the City of Revelstoke, its businesss and its locals, and we would like to show our support in return during this difficult time,” Ajay Schoen said in a letter to The Current on Tuesday.

One hundred per cent of the proceeds of the Acrh 17-April 11 drive at the club will go to the widows of Kurtis Reynolds of Strathmore and Shay Snortland of Lacombe, he said

The club will accept donations between 9:30 pm and 2 am and will also donate a portion of each patron’s cover charge to the fund. Reynolds left behind a wife, Shannon, and two children, Kadin, nine, and Cole, five. Snortland’s wife, Janine, also has two kids — Miya, six, and Ilea, four.
