Shriner generosity in action

Drew Derosiers gives a big two-thumbs-up with Shriners Dan McNutt (left) and Scottie Burke after they presented him Thursday with a Quickie Shark hand-driven tricycle for his 14th birthday. Drew has cerebral palsy so using a conventional bike is completely out of the question. The Revelstoke Shrine Club worked with the Vancouver Gizeh Shrine's Norval McKay Smith Foundation to acquire the $4,000 handbike. "This will really help his cardio," said his mom, Marnie. It wasn't the only special gift the boy received this year. The Sunshine Wish Foundation recently let the family know that it was granting Drew's wish to visit New York. "Drew really wants to see the Knicks and the Yankees play and a Broadway show," Marnie said. David F. Rooney photo
