Mr. Wilfred Francis Lessard passed away peacefully at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on February 10, 2010 in his 88th year.
Wilf was born on June 6, 1922 and had been a lifelong resident of Revelstoke. He retired from the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1982 as a Locomotive Engineer after 42 years of service. Wilf was a veteran of World War Two, a 65-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch #46) as well as a life member of the Knights of Pythias Gold Range Lodge #26 and the DOKKs.
Wilf was predeceased by his parents Sarah and Eugene Lessard, his brother Eugene, nephews, Robert Lessard and Bryan Parker. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Pat; sister, Marie; several other relatives including nieces and nephews in B.C., Alberta and the Lessard family in Ontario.
There will be no formal funeral service by Wilf’s own request. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1633 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 1P6, in memory of Wilf.
